The Chopped Trees are Re-growing!

A few months back it was sad to see the huge, giant trees being chopped down to broaden the roads on Hubli-Dharwad national highway. But here's something green about them now - they are re-growing.

Happy New Year 2012

Some artwork on the wall by the kiddos @ home for the New Year + Birthday party celebrations.

 The birthday cake

The official seal to enter the New Year Party (of course, only after paying the entrance fees :) for a party on the terrace).

Some Insects

Looks like a leaf, also as if it comes from a Grasshopper species

Does that belong to the Beetle or Ladybird species?

Saw a rainbow early in the morning

It poured early morning from probably 4am and there was this beautiful semi-circular rainbow by 6am.

I could not view the right end of the rainbow clearly (lots of trees covering it).

This is how the same 2 trees looked like at 7pm after the rainbow cleared

Doggy sleeping peacefully in between a palm tree in Farmagudi, Goa

This doggy was so well camouflaged, that we did not notice it initially. Then when those 2 legs protruded out, we could make out.

Semi-Circular Well

Found this well in my native place - Chendia in Karwar.
It's strange that I never noticed this semi-circular well in any of the previous visits.

There's an old temple in the same lane as our house; though I am atheist, I liked (plz. note the past tense) visiting that temple as it was supposed to a temple my great granny was deeply connected too. Also, because of the pond next to the temple, where there were once crocodiles. Exactly opposite to this temple, is a house that has this semi-circular well.

Now, why past tense for liked visiting the temple - the last time I had been there was because the temple was renovated - the idol of the goddess & the entire template was a new one now. It was very heartbreaking to see a concrete building in place of that sweet old, cool temple.

Wasps Mud Capsules

Some pics - think it's a wasp's house (not getting exactly what to say)
Found this in my native place - our home - no one stays there
